Job Description

Nesco Resource is seeking a skilled Grinder Operator for a client in Elmira, NY to operate and maintain grinding machines with precision. The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for detail, the ability to read and interpret blueprints, and a commitment to maintaining high safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate grinding machines to shape metal parts, ensuring accuracy and quality.
• Set cutting speeds, feed rates, and depths based on product specifications.
• Inspect and measure parts using gauges and micrometers to ensure conformity to specifications.
• Replace grinding wheels and adjust machine settings as needed.
• Follow blueprints and job orders to determine specifications and operational sequences.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of machinery.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to OSHA standards and company policies.

Requirements:

• High school diploma, GED, or vocational training; equivalent experience may be considered.
• 1-2 years of experience with manufacturing tools and equipment, including grinders and measuring instruments.
• Strong attention to detail, excellent hand-eye coordination, and basic math skills.
• Knowledge of federal and state regulations (OSHA, EPA) and manufacturing industry standards.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends, if required.
• Capacity to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to maintain a clean work area.

Additional Skills:

• Basic knowledge of data handling and equipment setup.
• Ability to train and adapt to company-specific processes and requirements.

• $15.50-$17.00 per hour
