We have great opportunities for a customer-focused IT Help Desk Technician (IT Support Center Technician) to join our talented team. Support Center Technicians are key in diagnosing and resolving software and hardware issues or questions related our franchisees’ use of the Company’s proprietary and third-party software. You will be an integral part of a collaborative team that provides comprehensive franchisee support. POSITION PURPOSE Assist Winmark’s franchisees with their use of technology related products and services. With the highest degree of professionalism and excellent customer service, respond to questions in a timely fashion in order to resolve the technical issues encountered by our franchisees. Prepare, assemble, and configure various hardware components. Integrate these components with the various business systems purchased by Winmark’s franchisees.
MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY - Diagnose and resolve software and hardware problems related to Winmark’s franchisees use of the Company’s proprietary and third party software. Handle system issue or refer to the appropriate technical, professional, or service personnel for appropriate service, repairs, training, and follow-up.
- Handle franchisee technical issues in a timely matter to ensure all proprietary point of sale systems are functional. Ensure thorough documentation in all internal and external communications and case notes.
- Provide software and hardware pricing to franchisees purchasing Winmark’s business systems.
- Prepare, assemble, and configure various hardware components. Integrate these components with the various business systems purchased by Winmark’s franchisees.
- Complete franchisee’s orders for shipment in a timely and accurate manner.
- Assist with the cycle count of inventory, monitoring of product stock levels and the receiving and stocking of product.
Qualifications - 2 – 4 years of computer-related support and/or education, with A+ and/or Network+ certification preferred.
- Must possess knowledge of PCs and operating systems including troubleshooting capabilities and networking experience. Point-of-Sale hardware experience a plus.
- Successful candidates are detail-oriented and must have excellent problem-solving skills, and strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple cases and projects. Ability to build strong relationships in a collaborative, team environment.
- Previous customer service experience with ability to display a high degree of professionalism, confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy with franchisees.
- Must be available to work some nights, weekends, and holidays (rotated across staff).
Physical Requirements - Sedentary position for lengthy periods at a computer terminal. Visual acuity to facilitate the use of a computer terminal required.
- Lifting of up to 50 lbs., unassisted. Standing for lengthy periods when configuring computer systems.
- Bending, rotating, and reaching with assembly of computer systems.
- Not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
The IT Support Center Technician role is on-site at Winmark’s Plymouth, Minnesota location. Annual salary is $45,000 – $50,000 DOQ, plus discretionary profit sharing and great benefits package.
